In a speech, just before the University of Regina gained its autonomy in 1974, then-Principal Dr. John Archer said: “Regina is not seen as a university town, as yet. The Regina campus is still a question mark in some people’s mind. This, too, will pass. Regina, ere long, will be proud of this rugged brat that squats so starkly in the southeast environs of the city.”
Since that time, the University of Regina has grown to become an integral contributor to our community. Not only is the University a hub of intellectual and academic activity, but it’s also a crucial contributor to the local and provincial economies.
